Overview: We’re launching an exciting new preschool program at our dynamic gymnastics center, and we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Preschool Director to lead the way! This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up, combining early childhood education with movement-based learning for children ages 2–5.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Curriculum:

Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Virginia state standards.

Incorporate physical activity and enrichment into daily lessons.

Ensure the curriculum supports a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for all learners.

Licensure & Compliance:

Navigate and manage all Virginia preschool and daycare licensing requirements.

Maintain compliance with all local and state regulations for health, safety, and early education.

Staff Management:

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a small team of early childhood educators.

Create staff schedules and provide ongoing support and professional development.

Daily Operations:

Oversee day-to-day preschool operations including drop-off/pick-up, snack management, and classroom logistics.

Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and the gymnastics center team.

Manage staff and student scheduling, substitute coverage, and extracurricular programming.

Safety & Communication:

Develop and enforce safety protocols.

Maintain open and proactive communication with families and staff.

Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and caring manner.

Financial Oversight:

Contribute to budgeting, enrollment goals, and ensure the program meets financial benchmarks.

Collaborate with the gymnastics center owner on financial decisions and strategy.

Reporting:

Report directly to the Gymnastics Center Owner, providing regular updates on program progress, staffing, and operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Valid Early Childhood Education license for the state of Virginia.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a licensed preschool or daycare program.

Proven experience launching or growing a similar early childhood program.

Deep knowledge of Virginia preschool and daycare licensure and compliance standards.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Passion for working with young children and their families.

Availability for flexible planning, meetings, and administrative hours outside of core school hours.
