    to join our Culinary Team as a Private Dining Room Attendant

    The Glen, a Life Plan Community is seeking an on-call PRN experienced server for our new Independent Living community. For us, it is about working with individuals who agree that the dining experience should always be a positive one for the residents of The Glen.

    POSITION: Private Dining Room Attendant

    SHIFT: 2:00 P.M. - 7:00 pm (To work 4 to 5 nights a week) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for providing quality food service to residents and guests under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    High school or equivalent preferred

    Previous dining room attendant or server experience and/or training preferred

    Completion of ServeSafe course upon hire.

    Must be a people-oriented individual, have excellent oral communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.

    Computer skills appropriate to job tasks include Point-of-Sale system

    Organizational and time-management skills

    Ability to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions

    Server Duties and Responsibilities

    Greets guests and presents them with the menu

    Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any

    Suggest food and beverages to the guest

    Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS) system

    Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments

    Performing cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

    Filling in for absent staff as needed

    Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food; (example – no garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.)

    Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries

    Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and resident/guest satisfaction

    Serve food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order

    Observes guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service

    Promptly respond to guest with any additional request

    Bus tables when guests leave.

    Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses

    Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

    Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills; (example – salad preparation, dessert plating, etc.)

    Assist with stocking and maintain the dining room par stock levels and side station

    Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions for the Take-Out

    Close the shift on the POS terminal

    Other duties assigned by supervisor or manager including but not limited to this list

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Must be able to perform in a high-traffic, high-energy environment.

    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; pull, push up to 90 pounds.

    Finger and hand dexterity to operate small equipment and perform job tasks.

    Significant stooping, bending, standing, walking

    Works in warm, humid environment with exposure to sudden temperature changes when entering the freezer or walk-in
