Position Title: Roving Security Officer
Location: Stockton, Ca
Classification: Non-exempt
Shifts: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, and 11:00pm-7:00am
Compensation: Hourly wage, commencing at $19.50-$20.50, commensurate with experience and assigned site.
Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision coverage available for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week (full-time); after 60 days of employment. Paid vacation for full-time employees. Additionally, Holiday Pay and Paid Training and Development are available for both part-time and full-time employees.
Job Purpose:
The Community Roving Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the assigned site, client, and employees. This includes controlling access, patrolling and monitoring premises, and guarding the site against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. The officer is also responsible for enforcing parking regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Assume the Duties of Other Non-Supervisory Security Positions: The officer will possess the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of all other non-supervisory security positions within the organization.
B. Enforce Assigned Rules and Policies: The officer will be responsible for enforcing all applicable rules and policies.
C. Comprehensive Knowledge of the Assigned Site: The officer will have a thorough understanding of the assigned site’s layout, street, and amenities.
D. Work various shifts as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
E. Assist in the collection and reporting of statistical information and data.
F. Ensure compliance with entry requirements as necessary.
G. Respond to non-emergency calls for service and, within the limits of their knowledge, experience, the law, and policies, attempt to prevent or reduce injury or loss of property to the assigned site, its members, and/or guests until relieved by responsible public agencies.
H. Monitor and respond to fire and/or rescue calls to assist as needed and able.
I. Enforce Community Code of Regulations (CC&Rs).
J. Document violations.
K. Document activities, collisions, crimes, policy violations, and other events as required, in a neat, concise manner, and on the proper report form and format.
L. Maintain a good working relationship with local public enforcement and other agencies.
M. Within the limits of the job objectives, assist public agencies when requested.
N. Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
O. Ability to work with and/or without supervision.
P. Check all assigned site’s buildings, roadways, and other property for damage, intrusion, security violations, and/or hazards and report the results on required forms.
Q. Officer is required to patrol in a non-routine manner, in an assigned vehicle, with the objective of preventing or stopping criminal or other unacceptable conduct.
R. Be familiar with all facilities and amenities of the assigned site.
S. Officers will present themselves as courteous and professional at all times.
T. Maintain the security patrol vehicle by cleaning the interior and exterior as necessary.
U. Maintain control and objectivity when faced with occasional verbally abusive persons.
V. Perform any other duties as may be required by operations.
Education and/or Experience:
A. Possess a valid California State Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigations (BSIS).
B. Possess a valid California Driver License (for mobile patrol).
C. Possess a High School diploma.
D. Have security experience.
Required Qualifications:
Customer Service and Client Interaction Experience.
Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service and interacting with clients is essential.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands:
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: A. Physical Demands - Excellent physical condition, seeing, hearing/listening, complete speech, dexterity, smelling, driving, running, sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting/carrying 50 lb. Use of vehicles, computers, radio, and phone. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. B. Mental demands - Complex reading of technical reports, names/addresses, reports, maps, and written directions, math skills including algebra clerical, memorization, analyzing, perception/comprehension, judgment, decision making, attention to detail critical concerning surroundings and data entry, frequent repetition of data entry and tasks, investigation skills, supervision. C. Environmental Demands - Works alone and with others, verbal and face to face contact, shift work, extended day, inside/outside, extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, wet and/or humid, noise from vehicles and sirens, vibration, mechanical/electrical equipment, burning materials, moving objects, dirt/dust, may be exposed to vehicle exhaust and gas fumes.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed on foot and vehicle patrol. Exposure to extreme cold and changing weather conditions.
