Job Description

We’re looking for a Part-time Accounting Manager to provide coverage for a team member who is going on parental leave.

You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations. This includes ensuring smooth financial processes, compliance with accounting policies, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for maintaining financial security, preparing financial statements, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and managing vendor relationships. You will also play a critical role in establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate and timely financial data.

*** This opportunity is for part-time, temporary employment (up to 8 hours/week). Flexible schedule and fully remote. Must be available for 1-2 days of training in December and January and able to commit to working from February through May 2025.***

Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping: Actively work and manage the day-to-day finance functions, including outgoing payments

• Vendor Finance Relations: Vendor onboarding and account maintenance, including problem resolution (all housed in bill.com)

• Financial reporting: Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including booking journal entries, preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business activity reports

• Internal controls: Ensuring compliance with internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation

• Financial security: Maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls and keeping information confidential

• Accounting policies and procedures: Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, complete transactional accounting, account reconciliations, and participate in closing processes

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of finance/accounting experience

• CPAs strongly preferred

• Experience with accounting software and financial systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations

• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach

• High level of confidentiality and professionalism

• Knowledge of advanced Excel or financial modeling skills

• Compensation range: $35 - $55/hour. This represents the expected compensation range for this job requisition
