A floor tech, also known as a floor care technician or a custodian, is an important member of the Indy Fiber team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various facilities.
Primary responsibilities of a Floor Tech
The primary duties of a floor tech typically include the following:
Stripping, waxing, and buffing floors
Cleaning and sanitizing floors and carpets
Dusting baseboards, vents, and other surfaces
Operating floor machines, such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors
Maintaining supplies and inventory
Following safety procedures
Secondary responsibilities
In addition to these primary responsibilities, floor techs are often tasked with performing secondary duties, which may include:
Cleaning restrooms, lobbies, and other areas
Emptying trash and recyclable bins
Responding to requests for technical assistance
Performing minor maintenance and repairs
Assisting with moving furniture and equipment
