    The Ordway: The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is one of the leading performing arts centers in the United States and a catalyst for vibrant arts in Minnesota. Powered by hundreds of talented and dedicated staff members and volunteers, the Ordway is renowned for its multidisciplinary programming, welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable environment. The Ordway welcomes audiences of all ages and backgrounds for year- round eclectic and entertaining offerings, including Broadway musicals, concerts, dance, vocal artists, and new works. Performances take place in the 1,900-seat Music Theater and a 1,100-seat Concert Hall. The Ordway serves tens of thousands of students and families each year through its arts education and community impact programs, and is a proud member of the Arts Partnership, a collaboration comprising the Ordway, Minnesota Opera, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Schubert Club.

    Position Purpose: The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all staff and patrons.

    Position Details:

    • Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Maintain cleanliness standards and guidelines using various processes and equipment to ensure a daily safe and clean environment that demonstrates the Ordway’s impeccable appearance.
    • Work both independently and with custodial team to complete daily and assigned tasks.
    • Maintain all Ordway cleaning standards and guidelines in all common areas, the main hall, lobby, dressing rooms, and offices.
    • Complete external maintenance tasks as needed, such as shoveling snow.
    • Assist and complete unique tasks when special events are planned at the Ordway to meet the demands of each event.
    • Maintain a flexible work to support the demands of the Housekeeping Department.
    • The Ordway is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the organization through their communication skills.

    Other Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
    • The ability to lift 50 lbs, with assistance.
    • The ability to bend, move quickly up and down stairs, crouch or stoop, crawl, work in small spaces, and walk.
