    Position Summary:

    If you're looking for the opportunity to work with children and have a flexible schedule, then this is your dream come true! You will promote creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) concepts. Programs are for children 2-14 years old, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This is a great part-time teaching job for those interested in elementary teaching, middle school, early childhood education, or early childhood development.

    This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. The flexible schedule can include weekday classes between 12-6pm and/ or weekend events between 10-6pm.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities

    Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Actively play with and supervise children ensuring they are within visual and auditory range at all times.

    Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures

    Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology

    Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies

    Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions

    Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

    Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs

    Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, round tables as required

    Qualifications:

    Must be 18 years or older to apply. Must pass all Criminal and Child Clearances (Background checks and Livescan fingerprinting will be required per school district)

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, work includes visiting various sites. Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

    Experience working with children in a group, classroom or camp environment or Education degree

    Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

    The ability to carry materials, move materials weighing between 20-40 lbs. A wagon will be provided.

    Stay Engaged: The ability to engage and captivate the students is crucial. The instructor should use dynamic teaching methods and interactive activities to keep students interested and motivated. Promote team work and collaboration among classmates.

    Have Fun: Creating a fun and enjoyable learning environment is important. The instructor should plan and conduct activities that are both educational and entertaining, recognizing that enjoyment in learning fosters better engagement and retention.

    Exert a Positive Attitude: A positive attitude is essential. The instructor should encourage and motivate students, fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that helps students feel confident and valued.

    Promote Safety: The instructor should be meticulous in planning and execution to ensure safety, accuracy, and thoroughness in all aspects of the job. Attention to detail is a must.

    Flexible Schedule and Great Pay: Weekday classes (Mon-Fri) are between 12-6pm, weekend events can vary from 10-6pm. Great for those with open afternoons and weekends. Competitive compensation from $17-$35 depending on your experience, education, reliability and hours. Hours: 6–30 per week. Min availability of 3 days per week is required.

    This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
