    Salary Range: $3,058.22 per month; Starting Salary: DOQ, DOE

    Part Time Benefits Include : • Benefited employees shall accrue sick leave benefits at the percentage rate of hours worked per week, to a maximum of eight (8) hours earned per month based on a forty (40) hour workweek but not less than one (1) hour per every forty (40) hours worked per County Policy 30.05.0

    Brief Duties and Responsibilities: This position serves as the Constitutional Court Commissioner for the Walla Walla County Superior Court. The Court Commissioner assists the elected judicial officers with ex parte signings, covering dockets and hearings, and substituting for either judge as needed. The Commissioner may also preside over trials as agreed by the litigants.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises judicial assistants and bailiffs in the absence of the superior court judges.

    Working Environment/Physical Abilities : Work is performed in an office and court setting. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and lift up to twenty (20) pounds. Physical abilities required for this position are ones typically related to office operations; manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate personal computers and other office equipment; accessing file cabinets; and sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally and in writing, typing and correspondence preparation as necessary.

    Minimum Qualifications: Education And Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, practicing law. Emphasis on family law and/or criminal law preferred.

    Licenses And Other Requirements: Must be a member of the Washington State Bar Association in good standing with no pending, unresolved complaints. Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel for training, meetings, and conferences.
