The Firm is seeking a motivated L&E Partner to join our dynamic Employment practice group in our Long Beach CA office. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10+ years of employment law experience. Responsibilities:
· Appear at Court hearings for, among other things, trials, motions, status conferences, etc.
· Communicate with clients and coordinate with staff on various issues.
· Supervise staff to ensure filings are completed, follow-ups with clients are completed regarding the signing of settlement agreements and declarations, and client updates are timely performed, among other things.
· Provide recommendations on settlement negotiations.
· Engage in client meetings, ensuring effective communication
· Skillfully handle discovery by propounding and responding to inquiries
· Take and defend depositions confidently and adeptly
· Conduct thorough case-related investigations
· Advise and counsel clients on day-to-day employment issues.
· Assist with trial preparation
· Prepare policies, employment contracts, etc.
· Supervise the work of associates
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years of experience handling labor & employment law cases.
· Experience handling depositions, pretrial motions, and litigation work from inception to settlement/verdict.
Experience drafting various pleadings and complex motions including but not limited to summary judgment motions, class-wide settlement agreements, and various other litigation documents.
· Experience with Wage and Hour Law, Harassment, Discrimination, Class Actions and general CA Labor Law.
· Experience advising and counseling clients on California labor laws.
· Litigation experience including California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA)
· Able to work independently as well as a team player.
· Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Excellent listening, written, and oral communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
· Attention to detail and analytical skills.
