Partnerships Associate
Summary
PaintCare is hiring a Partnerships Associate to support corporate communications activities. This position will report to the Corporate Communications Manager and be responsible for a wide range of tasks including event planning, industry research, and strategic marketing.
About PaintCare
PaintCare is committed to making it easy and convenient for households, businesses, and institutions to recycle postconsumer (leftover) paint in states with paint stewardship laws. A nonprofit organization created by paint manufacturers, PaintCare sets up drop-off locations for leftover paint, arranges for recycling and proper disposal, and conducts public education. More than 70 million gallons of paint, stain, and varnish have been managed by PaintCare in 10 states and the District of Columbia. Responsibilities
Partnership Development and Strategic Marketing (50%)
- Support the Corporate Communications Manager in building and maintaining strong relationships with partner associations and other organizations.
- Identify new partnerships for PaintCare to reach diverse audiences such as non-English speakers, teachers & educators, and others with paint stewardship messaging.
- Identify and track sponsorship, membership, marketing, and exhibitor opportunities.
- Write relevant content for associations and organizations, such as e-newsletters, blogs, social media posts, print and digital ads, etc.
- Provide general support for local and state association relationships.
- Coordinate national and state mail campaigns by preparing contact lists, managing internal review timeline, developing materials, and collaborating with external vendors.
- Develop content for partner outlets such as learning management systems, online presentations, etc.
- Research and initiate outreach to new organizations in existing and future PaintCare regions.
- Write website profiles for use by partner organizations and review and maintain these profiles.
Conference Logistics Management (50%)
- Coordinate logistics for all national and regional conferences.
- Provide on-the-ground support at conferences.
- Work with external vendors on conference shipments and booth furnishings.
- Coordinate internal staff resources for conferences (registrations, travel logistics, team outings, etc.)
- Lead internal meetings to prepare staff for external facing events.
- Coordinate production, storage, maintenance, and shipping of educational signage, materials, and structures.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, English, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of work experience in marketing, communications, or a related role.
- Experience in relationship building, event planning, and/or marketing preferred.
- Ability to travel within the continental U.S several times per year.
- Superb attention to detail and highly organized.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications.
- Excellent written communication skills including copywriting, editing, and email etiquette.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to research, analyze, and curate new marketing opportunities.
- Knowledge and ability to use database systems like Excel to capture and report information, create data sets, and export data.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a desire to learn many facets of communication.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and interact with diverse audiences.
- Diplomatic professional with excellent customer service skills.
- Personable, outgoing, and collaborative with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to independently organize tasks and prioritize projects while traveling.
Location and Travel
This position is located at ACA headquarters in Washington, DC and will operate within a hybrid work environment (working both onsite and remotely). This position will be expected to travel for work events several times per year within the US.
Employment, Salary and Benefits
This is a full time, regular position. Salary is dependent on experience, but on estimate can range from $64,080 to $72,000. PaintCare, through the ACA, provides generous benefits [401(k), vacation days, medical, dental, and life insurance] and reimbursement for travel expenses.
