Summary:
The Parts Lead - Warehouse and Logistics manages warehouse operations which includes the logistics of automotive goods and parts (inbound and outbound), customer liaison and systems maintenance while serving as the supplier liaison and ensuring efficiency in all functions.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
Develop and implement warehouse procedures in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
Organize and maintain the warehouse with stock locations.
Ensure general cleaning and maintenance of warehouse spaces.
Logistics
Oversee the logistics of automotive goods and parts nationally and internationally, both inbound and outbound, and ensure correct documentation is maintained.
Inspect parts upon delivery to ensure the specification matches the specification ordered and no damage is present.
Reconcile purchase invoices.
Liaise with suppliers regarding procurement of stock for fitment, events, domestic and international shipment.
Oversee minimum and maximum stock levels on site and ensure that the company is sufficiently prepared to meet supply and demand.
Identify and manage aged stock.
Carry out full stock checks bi-annually.
Manage and record warranty returns with both customers and suppliers.
Oversee the collection and delivery of goods and parts in conjunction with national and international courier services.
Issue parts to the workshop team and ensure they have been recorded against specific repair orders.
Create invoices from repair orders once jobs have been completed.
Customer Liaison
Manage the sale of selected parts via the online store/eBay.
Liaise with customers regarding the sale or delivery of new or replacement automotive parts.
Process customer orders following the sale of new or replacement automotive parts.
Ensure payment is received prior to dispatching goods and/or confirm that a customer account is not on hold due to any historic debt.
Oversee the efficient dispatch of customer orders and inform them of any delays or issues that may arise.
Manage customer expectations regarding any issues that may arise.
Keep the Vice President and Business Manager informed of any serious issues.
Systems Maintenance
Maintain parts and inventory records, customer records, supplier records, and sales ledger records in the company DMS system.
Supplier Liaison
Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with local and national suppliers to procure required items, including but not limited to service items, packaging, and miscellaneous parts.
Review supplier accounts to verify the accuracy of invoices, competitive pricing, and compliance with company requirements and specifications.
Liaise with suppliers to identify and resolve any issues or inadequacies.
When unable to resolve disputes with suppliers, liaise with the company’s Legal Team to take further action.
Arrange alternative supplier channels in the event of any disputes.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure general site maintenance is carried out.
Assist with other operational issues as needed during the early stages of the business.
Work off-site on occasion, both domestically and internationally.
Carry-out work in line with company policies.
Requirements:
OSHA, First Aid and Forklift Operator Certifications
Preferred manual handling training
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and database systems
Knowledge and experience with common carrier systems for both international and domestic shipping and receiving of automotive goods and services.
Ability to see the “bigger picture” with an understanding of chain reactions and the importance of planning ahead
Skilled in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating a wide variety of activities
Capable financial and numeracy skills.
Confident and concise communication skills.
Tactful negotiation skills
An ability to abide by company health and safety practices.
Applicant must be authorized to work in the US without Company sponsorship.
Applicant must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of logistics and distribution experience
International logistics experience including customs and duties
Progressive experience managing staff is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely lift 70lbs
Pay, Benefits and Facility Information:
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
