    Currently we are seeking a Parts Manager to be responsible for the overall management and oversight of the sale and distribution of replacement parts to distributors and end users of the company’s products. This position has profit/loss responsibility for the department including maintaining parts inventory, overseeing the shipping and receiving of materials and managing Parts Warehouses, Parts Customer Service and Shipping/Receiving staff in multiple distribution locations. This position reports to the Chief Sales Officer.

    Your Role in Our Mission:

    Oversee the sale and distribution of replacement parts to distributors and end-users.

    Develops and implements strategies to increase parts sales and profitability.

    Manage personnel of the department, which includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all parts department staff.

    Plan, coordinate, and direct all the department’s daily duties to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

    Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, suppliers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

    Develop, enforce, and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

    Manage and oversee third-party freight carriers to ensure all shipping services meet customer expectations including cost, quality, and timeliness.

    Coordinate with Products, Manufacturing, and Sales department counterparts to establish and implement pricing strategies that meet company profitability goals.

    Research, deploy, and manage new technologies that contribute to department improvements, including but not limited to space management, e-commerce, automation, telecommunications, logistics, etc.

    Establish and manage appropriate inventory levels ensuring periodic parts turnover and adjusting stock to curtail accumulation of unused or old parts while maintaining suitable inventories that meet company financial metrics and customer delivery requirements.

    Coordinate with counterparts and distributor resources to develop objectives and to forecast annual parts sales for the department.

    Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department.

    Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.

    Work with the Manufacturing department to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed to meet or exceed customer expectations.

    Develop, implement, and manage key productivity indicators for efficient department operation.

    Attend, contribute, and act on feedback from regular managers' meetings.

    Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect department activities.

    Effectively communicate and provide technical assistance as required to support parts department employees.

    Conduct meetings with parts department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation.

    Monitor parts department employees' payroll records.

    Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the company’s guidelines.

    To Perform this Job Successfully:

    Requires a bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in sales/customer service, manufacturing, accounting, or related field. A combination of education and experience may be substituted.

    Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to multitask.

    Strong computer skills, including intermediate to advanced use of all Microsoft Office products and manufacturer sales capture programs.

    Knowledge of overhead cranes and forklift operations.

    Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
