The Culinary team at DoubleTree by Hilton Battle Creek is seeking a talented Pastry Cook with at least two years of professional baking experience to join our team. This role requires a passion for pastry arts, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
As a Pastry Cook , you will be responsible for creating, preparing, producing, and baking all pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts for our food and beverage outlets. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding guest experiences while maintaining quality, consistency, and financial profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of pastry food items following designated recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure proper preparation, storage, and rotation of all pastry products.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with all food sanitation and safety regulations.
- Assist in developing new desserts and baked goods for a-la-carte, banquets, and catering menus as needed.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures per federal, state, local, and company regulations.
- Set up and display baked goods on designated carts or buffet areas according to hotel specifications.
- Maintain par levels of ingredients and prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure timely and high-quality food production.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional baking experience in a restaurant, hotel, or bakery setting.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredient functionality.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent product quality.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to foster a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and proper storage techniques.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. , stand for extended periods, and work in a high-temperature kitchen environment.
