We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual Patent Agent with at least one year of law firm experience and a degree in material, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering (or a related field) to join our busy patent counseling and prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and knowledge in chemical engineering or material science.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Analyze patent and scientific papers/documents to support patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
- Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
- Collaborate effectively with patent attorneys on various matters.
Qualifications
- At least one year of law firm experience and a degree in material, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering (or a related field).
- Strong knowledge in chemical or material science, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineering.
- Technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
- A registered US patent agent, or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam.
- Initiative, fast learning, and strong teamwork skills.
- An advanced degree is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual pay range: $125,000 - $205,000 (dependent on experience and location).
