    Sidney Regional Medical Center is searching for a Patient Access Rep to join our team. This is a full-time position primarily supporting the Hospital Admissions team. The position will be based at the hospital location Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, and rotating Saturdays at the Walk-In Clinic (approximately every 7 weeks) from 8:00am – 1:00pm.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external SRMC customers.
    • Welcomes and check in all patients. Directs patients regarding their appointment.
    • Obtain or verify patient information at the time of each visit and enter patient demographics into computer, proper insurance cards, company, or individual responsible for payment of bill, and proper-signed consent for treatment and HIPAA patient privacy information.
    • Assists the patient with completion of admissions forms as needed.
    • Verify eligibility of insurance on all patients at the time or prior to admissions.
    • Request co-pays, co-insurance and insurance deductibles from patients upon registration.
    • Responsible for pre-running estimates on all scheduled radiology and specialty clinic patients.
    • Responsible for locating and/or scanning orders.
    • Direct or accompany patients to designated service area.
    • Responsible for answering incoming calls in a timely manner.
    • Run reports and assist with projects as assigned.
    • Make account adjustments as requested.
    • Operate specialize equipment such as multi line phones, copier, fax machine, printers, signature pad and scanner.
    • Maintains admission accuracy of 98%.
    • Answers telephone calls and assess urgency of call. Provides assistance or directs caller to appropriate person, contacting physician/nurse directly for urgent needs. Provides assistance to other receptionists in screening patient calls.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Clerical/medical training or experience is preferred

    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
    • Strong team player
    • Ability to keep information confidential and protect patient information
