Talley Eye Institute is seeking an enthusiastic Patient Accounts Specialist to join our Ophthalmic practice in the Billing department.
Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, all the essential functions listed below:
Manage the on-account report for corresponding billing cycle
Review and send patient statements
Transfer and apply patient payments within Billing software programs
Complete patient refund requests
Apply self-pay adjustments
Post patient payments mailed in
Generate receipts for HSA/FSA patients

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Must demonstrate data entry skills, knowledge of standard office equipment
Bookkeeping skills and the ability to obtain medical billing software competency
Knowledge of private insurance rules and regulations
Check patient accounts and make determination on claim
Answers Billing phone line/takes calls from patients and insurance carriers to discuss activity on accounts
Contact patients and/or insurance carriers to settle accounts
Additional duties assigned by Billing Supervisor
Education and experience:
High school diploma
Two years experience in a medical office
Salary is commensurate with experience
