The Menu Ambassador responsibilities will be but not limited to:
· Understanding patient diets and delivering superb customer service.
· Adhering to hospital policies.
· Taking meal orders at patient bedside and explaining their diet to them.
· Engaging with the patient to get feedback on meals so that adjustments and improvements can be made.
· Assisting healthcare hostess with delivering meals during the shift.
· Communicating with medical staff regarding patient meal request.
· Ensuring meal orders are correct prior to existing the kitchen.
· Documenting meal order mistakes and reporting them to the patient service manager and the food and nutrition supervisor as soon as an error occurs.
· Properly setting trays and removing trays if need be.
· Taking precaution by properly wearing PPE, foaming in and out as well as handwashing when entering and exiting the patient room.
· Reviewing meal selections and resident requests prior to returning to the patient’s room.
· Use of technology (computers or tablets) professional to carry our rounding task.
· Updating hostess about patient preferences.
· Assisting the food and nutrition supervisors as needed.
· Maintain clean workspaces and adhere to safety guidelines.
· Attend training and participate during each session.
· Assist with kitchen prep work as needed.
· Partner with Clinical Nutrition Manager for education materials/resources for patients.
· Strategically plan events or experiences with patient service manager to ensure patient satisfaction.
· Preform other duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement – High School Diploma, must be able to read and understand diets and restrictions, perform simple math and efficient with technology. Basic Management Experience - none Basic Functional Experience – Be well versed in patient diets, regulatory and sanitation practices.
