Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled, reliable construction worker to join our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for participating in a variety of building and construction projects. You will be called on to complete job punch lists and complete “light” electrical, paint, and carpentry work as needed to close jobs. Successful performance in this role will result in improved cycle time and customer service as well as our gross margin goals.
Key Skills Include:
· Drywall (install, tape, spackle, patch)
· Flooring (sanding hardwood, install vinyl/laminate/carpet, install transitions)
· Cabinets (install)
· Trim (install baseboard/crown molding/quarter round/door/window)
· Paint (ceiling, walls, patch)
· Electrical (install lights, install outlets/switches)
· Plumbing (Install toilets/sinks/garbage disposal, cap/fix pipes)
· Appliances (Install)
· Roof (Repair small damage)
Duties and Responsibilities
· Complete punch lists as directed by supervisor to close out jobs
· Support completion of warranty items that need addressed
· Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
· Complete previous projects or receive new project instructions from manager/ supervisor
· Consult team leaders and manager on construction plans
· Follow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
· Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
· Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn
· Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
· Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
· Train on experienced tasks and learn new tasks from coworkers
· Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
· Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
Qualifications
· Two years previous experience in construction preferred
· State licensure to work with hazardous materials preferred but not required
· Valid driver’s license
· Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
· Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
· Hours Worked – 8am – 5pm (After Hours & Weekends as needed)
· Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 poundsBenefits and Compensation:
