PAYROLL SPECIALIST
FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPT HOURLY POSITION
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate for the Payroll Clerk position will be able to verify, process, organize and reconcile time and attendance; this person should be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be well-organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to adapt to our dynamic environment.
Essential Functions:
Collects and summarizes timekeeping information
Organizes and processes both scheduled and interim payroll calculations and disbursements
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Maintains historical records by organizing and managing documentation
Protects organization value by keeping information confidential
Serve as a critical support link between field operations and the corporate office for tracking of related expenses and activity
Drive improvements to the design and execution of financial controls within our corporate office and field operations
Assist in month end closing processes
Creates, analyzes, and distributes financial reports
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in general ledger accounting software and reporting tools
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP or other integrated GL software
Candidate must be motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to get results in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills required
Education or work experience in an accounting related field is preferred
Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate strong analytical abilities and a positive, can-do mentality
Must be able to pass a background
