    How this role transforms workplaces:

    The Payroll Specialist II is responsible for maintaining client/employee payroll information and processes payroll while providing excellent customer service to Xenium’s clients. Payroll Specialist will need to maintain a working knowledge of payroll rules and regulations while supporting a book of business.

    • Audits payrolls for accuracy. Audits a mixture of pay codes with corresponding workers’ compensation codes. Audits W-4’s and complies with IRS compliance letters. Audits vacation, sick and PTO accruals to correctly correspond with each client’s policy. Exercises a great deal of attention to detail in order to accurately prepare and process payrolls.
    • Provides top notch customer service to clients, both external and internal, providing the most accurate and compliant answer in a timely manner. Customer service to include emails and phone conversations with same day responses. Analyzes customer concerns and provides resolutions that benefit both the client and are within legal guidelines. Builds a relationship of trust and sincerity with clients.
    • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
    • Processes a high volume of payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintains recordkeeping and payroll activity functions including computing, calculating, auditing and processing. Includes commission, retro and separate bonus runs. Calculates garnishments, deductions, and loan payments.
    • Processes out of cycle pay runs such as bonuses and final checks.
    • Runs custom reports that will involve strong knowledge of MS Excel and formulas.
    • Exercises basic knowledge of payroll laws to provide clients with correct lawful process.
    • Enters client employee maintenance into payroll system including new hire paperwork, address changes, benefits, PTO/ Vacation/Sick accruals, terminations, and W-4 modifications.
    • Accurately enters the most up to date information in a timely manner to guarantee reflection on the next payroll run.
    • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
    • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and co-workers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
    • Respectfully takes direction from their supervisors and managers.

    • Within CRM, input timely and accurate client information and track all client service activities performed.

    Who you’ll work with:

    Payroll team, Benefits team, HR Business Partners, various clients

    Required experience and skills :

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Multi-state payroll knowledge required.
    • Passion for managing and delivering Payroll services.
    • Bilingual fluency in Spanish a plus.

    • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Must demonstrate trustworthiness, confidentiality, initiative, and flexibility.

    Preferred skills and certifications:

    • Multi-client experience preferred.
    • Payroll Certification preferred.
    • Prism HR platform experience is preferred.

    Xenium HR is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. The starting salary for this role ranges from $27.88-29.81/hour based on skills/knowledge, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization.
