    Job Description

    WHAT WE DO: The PayScale Benchmarking Team solves puzzles for our customers. We work to ensure that our customers' positions are benchmarked to the appropriate datasets for their jobs. We are experts in using PayScale’s proprietary employee reported, HRMA, and Peer data sets along with third party compensation surveys to ensure accurate benchmarking and market pricing for our customers.

    WHAT YOU DO:

    • Study and analyze benchmark jobs by utilizing a defined benchmarking or market pricing strategy.
    • Perform audits of customer accounts to determine whether benchmarked jobs have changed significantly from the original evaluation.
    • Participate in special projects to improve internal systems and services.
    • Provide customer and operational support by completing routine tasks associated with customer data.
    • May also be called upon to provide other support to balance the workload across multiple teams within the Services organization.

    DAY-IN-THE-LIFE:

    As a Benchmarking Specialist I, a typical day may include the following:

    • Benchmarking customer jobs by analyzing job descriptions
    • Using PayScale best practices to match jobs by title
    • Assisting customers over email to better understand job matching process
    • Assisting customers over the phone by reviewing the jobs live with the customer
    • Providing feedback to PayScale internal teams to improve products and processes

    FIRST YEAR IN ROLE:

    • Month 3: Within 3 months, you will have completed training as a Benchmarking Specialist 1 and will be working on customer projects
    • Month 6: Within 6 months, you will have completed match review training and will be troubleshooting with customers live on the phone on an as needed basis
    • Month 12: Within 12 months, you will have mastered benchmarking and customer troubleshooting and will be working on process improvement projects and/or product improvement
    • Between 6 and 12 months you may also be helping to mentor/train other new hires
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE:

    • This is an entry to mid-level position where we have found success with candidates from a variety of backgrounds
    •  A post-secondary education is helpful, but not required

    SKILLS:

    • Customer service, focused on problem solving and troubleshooting
    • Research and data analysis skills and mindset
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects
    • Strong project management skills
    • Experience with relational databases is a plus

    TOOLS:

    • Salesforce experience is a plus

    COMPENSATION

    In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $39,900 - $61,800, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a variable of $2,500. If you are hired at Payscale, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
