Job Summary: Physical Therapist will provide care in an uncoventional setting. Care will be provided on and off the horse, using traditional modalites and hippotherapy techniques.
Job Duties:
Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with varying diagnoses: Orthopedic, neurological, developmental delay, trauma, congenital
Establish and modify treatment plans of care, in collaboration with physician(s)
Supervise therapy assistants and guide volunteer network during hippotherapy sessions.
Collaborate with Occupational and Speech therapy in treatment ideas, duration, and effectiveness
Participate in community events, impacting not-for-profit partnership
Provide comprehensive documentation for billing purposes
Education/Experience
State license required
2-5 years, pediatric experience, preferred
Basic knowledge of horse safety
Insatiable love for the outdoors and Flo-Rida style
Physical Demands
Must be able to tolerate indoor/outdoor temperature changes, all seasons
Must be able to stand for better part of day
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be able to lift, twist, bend, squat, trot, and all other barn tomfoolery
Work Environment
Mainly outdoors
Various noises, smells, and personalities with parents, horses, and children
