ABOUT OUR COMPANY
We are looking for a temporary People Coordinator (part-time) to support and report directly into the People Director. This position is offered as a temporary position, looking to hire for a 60-day timeframe.
Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being an active communicator is a must and we are looking for someone to help us roll out initiatives to the wider business. This is a fast-moving business so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.
Responsibilities
Support People Director and provide day to day HR support while establishing trust and reliability with employees and partners
Identify and deliver opportunities to improve the employee experience and help execute initiatives that support and advance the mission, values, and strategic vision of the business
Manage and oversee recruiting of onsite roles, including job postings, prescreens applicants, interviews, and onboarding of new hires
Mentor and provide guidance to employees related to career development
Provide coaching to managers and employees regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary procedures, while demonstrating a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
Liaise with various HR partners and specialists in the areas of Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Recruiting, and Systems to drive initiatives at the local site that will further our goals to attract, develop, and retain employees
Implement, monitor, adhere to, and enforce compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable
Champion health and safety policies (i.e., worker’s comp procedures, allergy procedures, harassment etc.)
Resolve staff issues or concerns, ensuring follow up in a proactive and positive manner
Responds to routine HR questions and staff requests including but not limited to employee’s benefit questions, assist with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, assist employees with paperwork related to filing medical claims, employment verifications, etc.
Oversee processes and matters related to benefits, 401k retirement plans, workers’ compensation, leave of absences, and unemployment.
Maintain employee files and internal database as well as monitor and analyze HR reports (i.e., turnover, retention, engagement).
Manage and/or coordinate employee engagement experiences including diversity and inclusion initiatives, bulletin boards, birthday and anniversary announcements, annual holiday party, Employee of the Month, summer picnic, staff training, direct lines, coffee chats, etc
Core Compentencies
A minimum of 0 - 1 year of HR experience in a fast paced and professional environment
Proven success of “champion of the culture,” facilitating excellent communication and engagement
Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute
Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive
Breadth of experience across the entire HR function
Able to switch from a strategic planner to ensuring all basics of the department are covered (i.e. induction, starters, leavers, etc).
Fluency across a variety of HR disciplines, e.g. organizational development, leadership and talent development, HR process design and HRIS, compensation management, HR administration and diversity and inclusion.
