    Radiology Technologist at Longleaf Surgery Center

    The Per Diem - Radiology Technologist will perform multiple procedures under the direction of specialized physicians, including operation of special imaging and radiology equipment. Skilled at sterile field assistance during operating room and pain management procedures. Maintains a professional relationship with physicians and staff. NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS, NO CALL

    JOB DUTIES:

    Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following:

    • IV and contrast administration
    • Orthopedic Radiology
    • Pediatric Radiology
    • Operating Room Radiology
    • Trauma
    1. Radiology
    2. GI Radiology
    3. Outpatient and Inpatient Diagnostic Radiology
    4. Myelography
    5. Arthrography must be.
    • Perform Pain Blocks
    • Cholangiograms
    • CXR
    • Modified Specimen Mammograms.
    • File and log in OR x-rays
    • Keep Mini C-Arm logs UTD.
    • Report system of radiology findings to physicians.
    • Strong teamwork skills, utilizing "down time" to perform other assigned tasks, including room turnovers, restocking warmer, specialty carts, etc.
    1. Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment; explain X-ray procedures to patients.
    2. Position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required.
    3. Report any changes in patient condition to attend medical staff.
    4. Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physicians with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
    5. Record the amount and type of film exposed
    6. Label the film with identifying information; sort as required.
    7. Consult with lead x-ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
    8. Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.
    9. Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition, CR reader.
    10. Use PACs to send exams for interpretation.
