    The Perinatal Behavioral Health Counselor provides in-person and remote mental/behavioral support services for participants of the federally funded Healthy Start Initiative.

    Sign On Bonus of $1000.00

    Responsibilities:

    Provide in-person and remote behavioral health supportive services including:

    Conducting thorough behavioral/mental health screenings and assessments

    Offering individual and group counseling

    Creating comprehensive treatment plans and care plans

    Ensuring timely completion of all necessary forms and documentation

    Conducting regular home visits with program participants to assess needs and individual goals

    Facilitation of engaging monthly mental health support groups

    Prioritizing attendance at all mandatory team meetings, including case conferences

    Assisting in facilitating impactful professional development activities for the program staff.

    Qualifications:

    Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related field

    Exhibit a strong interest in, and commitment to, perinatal mental health care

    Ability to training, or willingness to train, members of the Healthy Start team

    Demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, trauma-informed mental health care and reproductive justice

    Strong understanding of social determinants of health

    Ability to collaborate with a diverse community of perinatal professionals

    Additional training and/or specialization in infant mental health preferred

    Candidates must be comfortable working with economically diverse and high-risk (for poor health outcomes) populations.

    Interested candidates must be able to provide both virtual and in-person counseling services to Genesee County, MI program participants.

    Licensure Requirement:

    Must have one of the following licenses, in good standing, in the State of Michigan:

    Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

    Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

    Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

    License Psychologist (LP)

    Limited License Psychologist (LLP)

    Temporary Limited License Psychologist (TLLP)
