Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in renal care, with a focus on peritoneal dialysis. As a PD RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment. You will play a key role in educating and supporting patients, as well as collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform assessments of patients before, during, and after peritoneal dialysis treatment.
Set up and maintain peritoneal dialysis equipment.
Educate patients and their families on the peritoneal dialysis process, including home-based peritoneal dialysis if applicable.
Monitor and adjust dialysis parameters as necessary.
Administer medications and manage complications related to peritoneal dialysis.
Document patient data accurately and maintain detailed records.
Collaborate with nephrologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their peritoneal dialysis journey.
Qualifications:
Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experience in peritoneal dialysis or renal care is a significant advantage.
