This role requires a blend of personal care skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Monitor patients' health and report any changes in condition to appropriate healthcare staff.
Assist clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Administer CPR and first aid when necessary, ensuring client safety at all times.
Support memory care initiatives by employing techniques that foster cognitive engagement for clients with memory impairments.
Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.
Experience
Previous experience in direct support roles such as home care or group home settings is preferred.
Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and basic medical knowledge is advantageous.
Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
Experience in hospice care or memory care environments is a plus.
A background in nursing or social work can enhance your candidacy for this position.
