As a Litigation Paralegal at Fiore Legal, you will work closely with our managing attorney and another paralegal. The ideal candidate must be well-versed in the particulars of civil litigation, specifically trial preparation. We are looking for people who are: • Kind and compassionate • Service-oriented • Respectful • Collaborative • Authentic and real • Ethical • Responsible and trustworthy • Ambitious & Accountable for results • Excellent communication and people skills are essential • Candidates must be highly organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Outstanding attention to detail Responsibilities: • Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests • Organize our case filing systems so that everything is properly categorized and simple to find, as well as perform other administrative tasks as necessary • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by researching legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and aiding with client meetings • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical professionals; • E-filing; • Drafting shells for motions/pleadings; • Creating Medical Summaries and sending to Client before depos; • Assisting with scheduling Depos, mediations, DMEs; • Getting records from Experts; • Preparing docs (jury fees, CMC statements, subpoenas, meet & confers)Calendar discovery deadlines, depositions, hearings, and all hearing-related deadlines; • Trial preparation (binder, exhibits, ect.) Qualifications: • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • Talented verbal communicator and writer • Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm • Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure – Discovery • Familiarity with legal research • Deadline and detail-oriented • Spanish Speaking is a must • Familiar with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications • Comfortable with a paperless workflow Compensation: $27 - $35 hourly
