Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Attorney
As the Firm’s Associate Attorney, your main job is to perform Attorney-specific tasks within the Firm. These include legal analysis and strategy in settling cases, working with the Legal Assistant and Paralegal to make sure cases are being managed appropriately and worked up completely, so they are presented in the best possible light to the insurance company for settlement, also making recommendations for settling or going to trial if needed. If cases are unable to be settled, you are responsible for recommending litigation and reporting to the Owner and Firm Administrator. Benefits: • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance • 401(k) • Paid time off Responsibilities: • Delegate tasks and manage a team of litigation paralegals, legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, and legal secretary • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information • Assess potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly • Maintain updated status documentation of all case files in the case management system • Settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate and negotiate reasonable agreements • Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents Qualifications: • Active membership with the American Bar Association • Up-to-date knowledge of personal injury law/ tort law, wrongful death, civil and family law, medical terminology, and medical malpractice is imperative • State license to practice law and State Bar Association membership is mandatory • Superior research, negotiation, drafting, and communication skills are highly valued • Computer proficiency is essential Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 with opportunity for bonus
