We are seeking a licensed insurance professional to join our Personal Lines Insurance department. This team member will collaborate with producers and colleagues to provide personalized insurance solutions for Personal Property and Casualty insurance. Responsibilities:
A Personal Lines Insurance Rating Specialist is responsible for evaluating, calculating, and adjusting insurance premiums for personal lines policies, such as auto, home, and renters insurance. This role is crucial in ensuring that policyholders are charged accurate premiums based on their risk profile and that the company's underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements are met.
Analyze personal information, credit history, claims history, and other relevant data to assess the risk level of potential and existing policyholders.
Calculate premiums for personal lines policies using established rating models, guidelines, and state regulations.
Apply appropriate credits, debits, and surcharges based on underwriting criteria and client risk factors.
Review renewal and new policy applications to determine appropriate coverage options and pricing.
Stay informed of state regulations and compliance requirements in personal lines insurance to maintain accurate and legally compliant rating practices.
Document and record all rate decisions, including notes on underwriting rationale and any deviations from standard procedures.
Work closely with agents and customer service representatives to ensure seamless processing of new business applications and renewals.
Provide support and guidance to agents/CSR’s regarding rating questions, underwriting guidelines, and premium adjustments.
Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of Personal Property & Casualty Insurance
Licensed with TX Dept of Insurance
Independent Insurance Agency experience preferred

Experience with AMS 360 agency management system or similar preferred
Insurance accreditation a plus
