    Job Summary As a Pet Bather/Groomer Trainee, you will assist the groomer to bathe and trim pets according to breed-specific standards and owner preferences. You will also assist the groomer by trimming nails, cleaning ears, detangling hair, deshedding dogs and cats, and ensuring that each pet looks and feels their best while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    Attendance at events and ongoing public and customer outreach

    Consult with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and needs

    Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners

    Prepare dogs for grooming

    Bathe dogs and provide other cleaning and grooming services such as ear and teeth cleaning

    Detangle and deshed dogs per owner requests

    Learn to execute a variety of clipping techniques and styles requested

    Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures

    Ensure the safety of the pets at all times, and attend to their comfort throughout the grooming process

    Recognize signs of stress or health issues in animals and take appropriate actions

    Maintain grooming records and learn to provide follow-up recommendations to pet owners

    Ensure that all grooming tools are sanitized and well-maintained

    Clean kennels and grooming areas, as required, and make sure that the salon meets cleanliness and safety standards at all times

    Work with the store and grooming team to schedule appointments and manage workflow

    Qualifications

    Comfortable working with all breeds of dogs and cats

    Ability to stand for long periods and lift large pets

    Attention to detail

    Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers

    Willingness to learn new styles and techniques and participate in continuing education

    Previous experience as a grooming technician/trainee or similar role preferred
