    Role Outline Pet Care Technicians are essential to delivering on our core promises of cleanliness and compassionate care. This role involves spending the majority of the workday directly interacting with our furry friends, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. A love for dogs is a must, as well as a willingness to handle the physical demands of the job, which includes cleaning, bathing, and managing doggie daycare.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all guests (both pets and their owners) are cared for in compliance with company goals.

    Pet Care Responsibilities:

    Health and well-being: Responsible for the health and well-being of dogs in Daycare and Boarding, ensuring their comfort and safety.

    Body Checks: Perform body checks on pets to identify any pre-existing conditions or injuries.

    Bath dogs as needed, ensuring they are clean, comfortable, and well-cared for.

    Running dogs to and from daycare, boarding, or customer areas.

    Providing personal playtimes for dogs.

    Taking dogs outside for elimination breaks.

    Provide hands-on care for all dogs, including feeding, grooming, and overseeing their overall well-being.

    Manage doggie daycare, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all pets.

    Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all accommodations, including regular cleaning and disinfecting of kennels, play areas, and common spaces.

    Observation and Communication:

    Excel in observation skills, with a keen eye for detail to monitor the health and behavior of all dogs.

    Communicate effectively with team members and management about any concerns or observations regarding the dogs’ well-being.

    Collaboration with Management: Work closely with the management team to handle various resort tasks as needed.

    Be willing and able to "get down and dirty" in order to provide the best possible care, including performing physically demanding tasks.

    Skills and Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Previous experience is preferred but not required

    Some weekend and holiday hours are required

    Job Requirement:

    Must complete K9 Resorts Certification Program for a Customer Service Representative

    Customer service oriented.

    Technical Skills:

    Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows.

    Proficient written and spoken communication skills.

    Physical Demands

    Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    Standing: Required for sustained periods of time.

    Walking, Pushing, Pulling, lifting: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.

    Fingering, grasping: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

    Talking, hearing, Visual: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: slicing, grilling, operating POS system.

    Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    Light and Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
