    Job description

    Dog Groomer needed for fun and busy doggy daycare and boarding facilities in Charleston and Summerville!

    Will be working in your own location James Island or Summerville as the primary groomer. Must be able to work independently. Established clients in place but still have the opportunity to grow even more!

    Will provide hydraulic groom table, shampoos, & dryers. Great if you have your own grooming tools but not required.

    We love sending our Groomers to the Grooming Expo in Atlanta every spring for updated Certifications and trainings. Continuing Education is important to us.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Groomer must have excellent communication skills and a strong dedication to outstanding customer service. Groomer is expected to meet and exceed our client’s expectations for the quality of service that Dog Tired provides. Groomer must be able to remain compassionate and well-mannered under all circumstances.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Greet clients and pets in a friendly and professional manner, using names in conversation.

    Perform a quick assessment of dog’s coat and consult with client about cut, any allergies/physical ailments and expected time of completion.

    Perform basic grooming services including brushing, bathing, conditioning, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, tooth brushing, dematting, and nail trimming.

    Have the emotional ability to remain calm and compassionate with pets that are reacting to fear and/or pain while keeping themselves and the animal safe.

    Must be able to make independent decisions and solve problems, informing supervisor and communicating with owner if problems with groom instructions arise.

    Be teachable, accept performance critiques positively, remain flexible and willing to implement new procedures, attend continuing education opportunities offered.

    Daily Report cards prepared for clients explaining any issues with the dog’s appointment and listing any health concerns.

    Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education & Experience:

    Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Knowledge of the grooming industry

    Prior experience: At least one year experience in grooming all breeds or proof of Grooming Certification is helpful

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
