    Job Description

    PEXCO IS A PLASTIC MANUFACTURING WAREHOUSE LOCATED IN TACOMA.  OUR WAREHOUSE WORKS 24/7 AND WE ARE GROWING IN ALL DEPARTMENTS!

    WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FULL TIME HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT.  THIS IS A NEW POSITION AND WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW WITHIN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT. 

    THIS POSITION WILL REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES.

    THE HOURS WILL BE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 630AM TO 330PM WITH AN HOUR LUNCH.  THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION WITH BENEFITS AFTER 60 DAYS.  MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG TEST.

     

    HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION (ENTRY LEVEL)

    This is a unique, HR career-building opportunity and we are seeking a talented individual for our Human Resources Administrative Assistant role. This position will cover a variety of activities and projects to support our Director of Human Resources, Human Resources Manager, and our employees. Performs a variety of routine human resources work to support the Human Resources function in recruiting and onboarding, compliance and records management, payroll and benefits administration, and employee relations as well as reporting and special projects.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Clerical support for the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Manager.

    • Assist with recruiting, scheduling in-person interviews, and ensuring candidates progress through the hiring process in a timely manner.

    • Correspond with applicants and respond regarding status of open positions.

    • Perform administrative work, including maintaining personnel files and keeping them organized.

    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ensure that HR matters are kept private.

    • Maintain appropriate records and statistics and generate reports as necessary, updates applicable databases, and file maintenance.

    • Perform general office clerical duties, support special projects and other designated activities as assigned.

    • Manage and update HR databases with different information such as terminations, sick leaves/vacation, 401k, health benefits.

    • Work with temporary agencies in staffing and reporting.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.

    • Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

    • Ability to work collaboratively as a team and maintain a positive attitude.

    • High ethical standards. Ability to secure and maintain confidential information.

    • Ability to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.

    • Able to efficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

    • Ability to learn and use HRIS systems.

    • Demonstrates a growth mindset, continuously seeking to learn and grow in HR and HR-related fields. Education and/or Equivalent

    EXPERIENCE:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.

    • Two years of office experience.

    • Previous HR administrative experience welcome but not required.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

    • Work area is inside, in a climate-controlled environment with light background noise.

    • Works in confidential information environment requiring discretion.

    • Could be walking in a warehouse where noise, fumes, odors, and dust are encountered.
