Pharmacist: (Federal Contract)
Work Schedule
Up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays
Hours between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, as mutually agreed upon with facility staff
Schedule may vary based on institutional needs
Duties Include:
Dispense and manage prescription and non-prescription medications in accordance with federal guidelines and the facility formulary
Maintain accurate inventory of all pharmaceuticals, including narcotics and emergency supplies
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols
Prepare unit-dose or pre-packaged medications
Maintain pharmacy records, update medication cards, and file Medication Administration Records (MARs)
Participate in quality assurance programs and organizational improvement activities
Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
Unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state
Current CPR certification
Completion of an accredited internship
Must pass a federal background/security clearance
Must have favorable credit
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with staff and patients
Knowledge of electronic medical systems, pharmacy technology, and federal formulary protocols
Additional Expectations:
Wear professional attire (navy, royal, or ceil blue scrubs)
Attend mandatory security and orientation training prior to assignment
Provide proof of immunity and screening for communicable diseases (Hep B and TB)
Submit documentation of qualifications at the time of quote (resume, licensure, certifications, proof of education)
Work Environment:
Services are provided in a secure correctional setting with frequent, unsupervised contact with individuals in custody
Providers are expected to uphold all institutional rules, maintain professionalism, and promptly report any incidents or irregularities
Providers are not responsible for inmate supervision but must ensure patient safety and rule compliance during encounters
