Pharmacy Clerk - Alhambra, CA
Compensation: $16.50 - $17.50 hourly
Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Pharmacy Clerk strong experience working in a fast-paced Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Clerk and be adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
About the Job
The Pharmacy Clerk will work with the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians to deliver excellent customer service while performing various clerical duties, including typing prescriptions and answering phone calls.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to inquiries in person and over the phone.
Process necessary prescription, insurance, and customer information
Prepare accurate orders for the pharmacy technician and/or pharmacist to fill
File prescriptions and records on occasion
Perform various clerical duties as needed.
Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of Personal Health Information as required by HIPAA.
Qualifications :
1 year of Pharmacy Clerk experience or comparable work experience.
Experience in Long-Term Care and Assisted Living is preferred.
Verifiable High School diploma or GED
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Above-average typing skills.
Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
Able to function in a close team environment.
Able to meet specified production and quality standards.
Able to identify and recognize commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration.
Able to identify common Latin symbols in prescriptions.
Able to calculate dosage and days supply.
