    Job Summary

    Our clinician-owned clinic is expanding and seeking a motivated Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy in a Dementia Care/ALF in the Northern Virginia Area!!

    About Bal Therapy: Bal Therapy, founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a collective of physical and occupational therapists working to transform rehabilitative healthcare for both patients and providers. We prioritize human connection, flexibility, and empowering therapists who are committed to reducing patient pain, increasing mobility lost due to injury or illness, and enhancing the overall health and wellness of our clients.

    Quick Glance: These will be one-on-one therapy visits in an Dementia Care/ALF setting located in Alexandria. Responsibilities include completing evaluations as well as follow up treatments. This part-time position is for 15-25 hours a week with flexible scheduling.

    Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has prior experience in geriatrics and is currently licensed in the state of Virginia, or in the immediate process of receiving it. They are motivated to help improve balance and strength deficits and are comfortable in assisted living environments or in homes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assess patients' physical condition and develop individualized treatment plans
    • Implement therapeutic exercises and techniques to improve patients' mobility, strength, and range of motion
    • Provide hands-on manual therapy, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and promote healing
    • Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for home exercises and self-care
    • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
    • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment outcomes

    Requirements:

    • Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
    • Valid Virginia state Physical Therapist license
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
