Rehab Director- Physical Therapy
Responsible for overseeing the entire rehabilitation department, including physical therapy services, by developing treatment plans, managing a team of therapists, ensuring quality patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and maintaining compliance with regulations, all while focusing on maximizing patient function and independence within the skilled nursing facility setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
- Conduct patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's needs and goals.
- Supervise and guide physical therapists and physical therapy assistants in the delivery of high-quality PT interventions
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document findings accurately.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified physical therapists to maintain a skilled and efficient team.
- Assign caseloads and manage therapist schedules to optimize efficiency
- Analyze patient data to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance reviews to enhance patient outcomes
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in physical therapy
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to foster a collaborative environment
Required Qualifications:
- Current state physical therapy license
- Rehab director experience preferred
- Experience in geriatric rehabilitation and working with patients in a skilled nursing facility setting
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with excellent communication.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality improvement initiatives
