Physical Therapy Medical Billing Manager
We are currently looking for a skilled Physical Therapy Medical Billing Manager to join the team at Total Recovery Physical Therapy P.C. in Little Falls, NJ. Responsibilities: • Manage the workflow of the Billing Assistant, providing supervision, training, and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. • Review and approve insurance claims for accuracy, oversee the timely submission of claims, and track any pending or denied claims. • Supervise patient insurance verification process, confirm benefits, and ensure pre-authorization is obtained before treatment. • Ensure accuracy in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, conduct regular audits, and provide training to minimize coding errors. • Oversee the accurate posting of insurance and patient payments, reconcile Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and resolve any payment discrepancies. • Monitor claim denials, guide the Billing Assistant in appeals, and implement strategies to reduce future denials. • Manage patient statements, oversee collections, and provide training on handling billing inquiries and payment plans. • Ensure billing practices align with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and internal policies by conducting regular compliance audits. Qualifications: • Experience in leading and managing a team, providing guidance and training to the Billing Assistant to ensure efficient revenue cycle management practices are followed. • Proficient in utilizing Excel, billing software, and EHR systems to streamline workflow, enhance efficiency, and monitor financial performance, with a preference for experience in data analysis, reporting, and automation tools. • Strong knowledge and expertise in Physical Therapy Billing & Coding, including proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes related to physical therapy services, along with adept navigation of billing software and EHR systems. • In-depth understanding of Insurance & Reimbursement Processes, encompassing thorough knowledge of insurance verification, claims processing, denial management, and payer-specific guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify billing discrepancies, analyze claim denials, and implement effective solutions to optimize revenue and minimize rejections. • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, coding, and financial transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reduce billing errors. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with insurance companies, clinical staff, and patients to facilitate clear and professional billing resolutions. • Demonstrated adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning by staying abreast of billing regulations, payer policies, and advancements in healthcare technologies, with a proactive approach to professional development and certification such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS).
