    Pay: $65.00/hour

    In this role you will:

    • Perform directed history and physical examination pertaining to patient’s presenting complaint in accordance with established rules and regulations defining physician assistant’s scope of practice.
    • Perform a variety of diagnostic/therapeutic procedures subject to state regulations and PA training including, but not limited to, Basic/Advanced Life support, IV therapy, venipuncture and arterial puncture, collection and preparation of laboratory specimens, injections, immunizations, eye examinations, STD/I exams, Treatment of HIV, Viral Hepatitis B, and Viral Hepatitis C, PrEP, minor superficial burns treatment, wound care and application of dressings and bandages, foreign bodies and suture removal, external hemorrhage control, medication administration, pelvic examinations, and routine required physical examinations including DOT, school, sports, passport, and immigration.
    • Review patient records and obtains information to determine health status, making appropriate assessment and determining if condition requires immediate attention of supervising physician. Provides referrals to specialty care as needed.
    • Perform administrative duties including testing and treatment of Hepatitis C in area jails.
    • Record/dictate pertinent data in medical record as required.
    • Refer patients to community health facilities, agencies and social resources as needed.
    • Serve as liaison between collaborating Physician, ancillary staff, and department staff to ensure quality of patient care.
    • Complete billing forms and appropriate documentation for billing requirements, collaborating with Medical Clerk as needed.
    • Assist in developing short term and long term public care goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and Department plans and programs.
    • Assist in implementing comprehensive health education program including development of health education materials for patients. Educates patents on health maintenance and disease prevention as needed.
    • Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required by Department.
