GENERAL SUMMARY: The BODYBAR Pilates Fitness Manager (FM) is the ambassador of the BODYBAR member experience and method. As a key leader in the BODYBAR studio leadership team, working closely with the Studio Manager and studio ownership, the FM ensures studio success by driving member satisfaction, programming, and team performance. This role requires a fitness professional with proven leadership and management skills. Group instruction experience is essential, and Pilates experience is a plus. The FM is responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing the instructor team, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting sales and community engagement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage the instructor team, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, ongoing evaluation, and coaching for continued development.
Develop and oversee the class schedule, ensuring alignment with client needs and optimizing studio programming for growth and retention.
Collaborate with the Studio Manager and Ownership to drive studio performance through tracking and optimizing KPIs.
Implement strategies for member retention and engagement to build lasting relationships within the studio community.
Support sales efforts, including new member recruitment, retention, and community outreach initiatives.
Teach up to 10 BODYBAR Pilates classes per week to ensure connection with the member experience and method delivery.
Ensure brand adherence across all touchpoints, ensuring a consistent and high-quality member experience.
Manage the maintenance and functionality of studio equipment, including preventative care, troubleshooting, and ordering replacement parts when needed.
Be a positive, visible leader within the studio, engaging with members before, during, and after classes to create a welcoming and connected community.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1 year of management or leadership experience in the fitness industry or a related field is required.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, hiring, and developing a team.
Strong understanding of studio operations, including performance tracking, scheduling, and member engagement strategies.
Group fitness instruction experience required (Pilates experience preferred, but not mandatory).
Must possess at least one of the following credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field
Certified personal trainer/group fitness instructor
Pilates or BODYBAR Instructor certification
Proficiency in Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Calendar, and Gmail.
Ability to learn and utilize new technologies (experience with Mariana Tek is a plus, but not necessary).
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with strong organizational abilities.
A team player who is detail-oriented, organized, and a positive leader.
Passionate about community building and delivering an exceptional member experience.
Must complete and pass BODYBAR Instructor Training.
COMPENSATION
Starting base salary: $40,000 - $50,000, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
Performance-based incentives: multi-tiered bonus structure tied to studio performance metrics and individual contributions.
