Welds a variety of metal surfaces or pipe using various types of welding equipment. Welds shell plating, fabricated cast or forged components according to specifications for vessels, tanks or other structural assemblies. Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Minimum three years of journeyman level experience. Knowledge of welding process, and various types of welding equipment. Proficient in all positions, flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead. SMAW and Flux-Core, TIG welding and air arc skills. Must pass a plate test in all positions and pipe test on 6G restricted fix position using FCAW and GTAW processes. Must be certified to operate high reach equipment. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English. Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings.

Assessment
The following hands on assessment will be conducted:
1. Carbon Steel - FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) Welding process in the horizontal, vertical and overhead position (2G, 3G and 4G)
2. 6G GTAW pipe butt test with CUNI, CRES, and Carbon Steel Overhead and Vertical pipe socket tests with CUNI, CRES, and Carbon Steel
All plates will be assessed using the x-ray method.
