    Position Demands

    • Reliable transportation
    • Basic measurement skills and hand tool knowledge
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs
    • Familiarity with safety regulations and safety procedures

    Journeyperson 4 (Pipefitter)

    • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches
    • Perform shop prefab on piping systems
    • Understand and apply tag-out procedures
    • Sil-braze (Grades 3, 4, and 5)
    • Knowledge of pipe bending, hydrostatic testing, and various piping systems
    • Install pipe hangers and supports
    • Knowledge of piping materials and valve types

    Journeyperson 3 (Pipefitter)

    • Similar to Level 4, but with limited supervision
    • Ability to perform shop prefab and hydrostatic tests
    • Knowledge of piping systems and proper material applications
    • Capable of sil-brazing (Grade 3)

    Journeyperson 2 (Pipefitter)

    • Read blueprints and perform shop prefab
    • Some direct supervision required
    • Knowledge of P-1 piping systems and basic hot work procedures
    • Ability to perform hydrostatic tests and install pipe hangers

    Journeyperson 1 (Pipefitter)

    • Handle minor piping installations with supervision
    • Basic knowledge of blueprints and tag-out procedures
    • Ability to hydrostatic test and install pipe hangers
