The Role We Want You For
The Planning and Execution Director will oversee the strategic planning, scheduling, and field operations for construction projects within the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction scheduling, field operations, and project management, combined with strong leadership and organizational skills.
The Specifics of the Role
- Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Monitor project timelines, adjust schedules as needed, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Manage and supervise field teams, including subcontractors and construction workers, to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Implement best practices for project management, including scope management, risk assessment, and cost control.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
- Act as one of the primary points of contact for clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports, schedule changes, and budget considerations.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing data center construction projects valued at $100 million or more.
- 15 + years’ experience in construction, ideally with data center experience.
- MEP & CSA background.
- Ability to supervise construction employees and subcontractors to accomplish work within budget and schedule constraints.
- Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite.
- Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
- Ability to lift objects at least 60lbs
