  • Responsibilities

    Full-service global food provider (manufacturing, production, packaging, distribution) seeks a sharp Plant Controller at their facility in Los Angeles. The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions at their manufacturing facility. This role will partner with plant leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance with company policies, and support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, pricing, and analysis within the food and beverage manufacturing sector, specifically with USDA beef manufacturing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the plant.
    • Provide detailed cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial insights to support operational decisions.
    • Monitor and control plant expenses, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
    • Oversee inventory valuation, cost accounting, and financial controls for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for plant investments.
    • Manage relationships with auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
    • Lead and mentor the plant finance team to enhance their capabilities and effectiveness.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
    • Must have animal protein manufacturing experience
    • 7+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years as a plant controller at a beef manufacturing facility
    • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP principles.
    • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing or CPG industry preferred.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Compensation
    $140,000-$180,000 per year
