RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints.
- Follow all the general safety regulations and use the equipment provided as required.
- Administers an effective recruitment program.
- Conducts wage and benefit surveys.
- Administers classification programs, which include classifying and reclassifying positions and writing job descriptions.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in employee development.
- Coordinates risk management program.
- Monitors workers’ compensation claims and coordinates between employee and insurance carrier.
- Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
- Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
- Stays current on federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates and newsletter for changes that affect HR.
- Obtains bids upon renewal, confers with management regarding benefit costs, makes recommendations as to employer/employee cost sharing, performs open enrollment and benefits meetings.
- Administers plant salaried compensation and performance review program.
- Oversees plant wide emergency response and safety programs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university and 5 years Human Resources experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary.
- Directly supervises employees in the Human Resources Department
- MUST have experience directly handling Environmental, Health, and Safety – EHS and Health, Environmental, and Safety – HES.
- Understand ISO 9001 requirements and OSHA regulations.
