Summary/Objective:
This key position is responsible for leading all manufacturing and related service departments, including Production, Assembly, Maintenance, Shipping & Receiving, Inventory Control, Materials, and Production Scheduling. This is a hands-on role. The successful candidate will value collaboration with team members, work cross-functionally, be a problem-solver and a “go to’ person and drive toward root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:

1\. Direct and manage the work of the production and production support teams for effective plant operations.
2\. Direct and manage production, distribution, warehousing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
3\. Analyze mechanical, technical, and other molding process-related problems. Determine and implement results-oriented solutions.
4\. Responsible for 5S and proper utilization of space in the plant and warehouse areas.
5\. Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines and labor.
6\. Meet operational needs and requirements within budget.
7\. Recommend capital expenditures and lead implementation of capital projects.
8\. Maintain close surveillance over operations through reports, staff meetings, observation, and personal contact to assure coordination and integration of workflow, timely production, budget conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel, skill, equipment, and facilities.
9\. Coordinate and direct major projects and installations of equipment, major repairs and overhauls, and plant layout changes.
10\. Supervise and coordinate the various programs essential to manufacturing procedures, such as training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, wage and salary administration, performance evaluations, and security.
11\. Determines root cause and implements sustainable preventative actions in response to Quality, Safety or Production non-conformances or concerns.
12\. Development and training of associates including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
13\. Leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds teamwork, and ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
14\. Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
1\. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
2\. Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience as a manager in a plastics manufacturing environment.
3\. Knowledge of operations, including scheduling, production, and quality systems IATF 16949:16 preferred.
4\. Demonstrated experience with ERP systems.
5\. Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement, lean or other process improvement techniques.
6\. Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
7\. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
8\. Ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates.
9\. Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
10\. Ability to function independently and multi-task.
11\. Thorough knowledge of equipment related to the injection molding process.
12\. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
13\. Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
