    Plant Manager

    The Plant Manager will oversee all plant activities, ensuring goals and budget are met. This will provide oversight to all departments, including purchasing, production, shipping and receiving, and administration. The Plant Manager will identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance health and safety, environmental standards, quality, and plant efficiency.

    This will require the ability to travel occasionally to Canada which will require a valid US passport. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    Administration:

    • Participate in weekly corporate meetings and provide reports to share results, best practices and overall plant performance.

    • Manage the inventory process.

    • Communicate objectives and KPIs to the team.

    • Work with leadership to create the budget and monitor adherence.

    • Develop and track KPIs for OTD, efficiency, EH&S, etc.

    Health and Safety:

    • Lead the morning safety huddle and stretch.

    • Develop, implement, and maintain standards for a safer and greener work environment.

    • Attend monthly corporate EH&S meetings.

    • Conduct monthly EH&S training sessions.

    • Investigate incidents and develop corrective plans and implement solutions to improve safety.

    Production and Quality:

    • Serve as the second responder in the help chain.

    • Create weekly production plans by proactively managing interdepartmental activities, materials, and labor resources.

    • Define standards and oversee the creation of work instructions.

    Human Resources:

    • Develop training programs and track progress using a skills matrix.

    • Foster a positive work environment.

    • Enforce rules outlined in the employee handbook, manage and track employee discipline.

    • Represent the company to employees and manage communication and feedback effectively.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Lead improvement meetings to identify better production methods.

    • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the plant.

    • Implement improvements by developing new tools and/or collaborating with external resources.

    • Manage and implement improvement projects assigned by upper management.

    Ideal qualifications:

    • Technical degree plus related experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.

    • Knowledge of EH&S and environmental standards.

    • Familiarity with key performance indicators.

    • Understanding of ISO standards and quality systems.

    • Workflow management and manufacturing processes.

    • Expertise in continuous improvement, Lean management, and DMS principles.

    • Proficiency in office software, particularly Excel (intermediate level).

    • Inventory management and ERP system usage.

    • Budget creation and tracking skills.

    • This will require the ability to travel occasionally to Canada which will require a valid US passport.
