    Job Title: Plat Coordinator

    Owens Management Systems, LLC has been servicing the Southeast Houston area for 20 years offering pre-land development services for developers and home owners.     Summary: The Platting Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the platting/zoning processes for multiple projects within the Southeast Texas area. The plat coordinator is expected to prepare the plat/drawings, project submittals, and coordinate review with the assigned municipality. This position will require creating and executing checklists, timelines and assigning tasks as needed for project completion. Attention to detail, communication, and understanding of platting and municipality requirements are vital for this position.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    Researching zoning laws, planning regulations, and other legal requirements related to land use for platting regulations.

    Must be able to coordinate multiple projects throughout the platting process. Including creating, managing, and ensuring project timelines are met.

    Working with clients, engineers, and architects to develop land plans.

    Interact with clients regarding project status and updates.

    Draft and revise plats based on municipality requirements and client's land plans. Plat revisions must be completed within 3 days of receipt.

    Additional Duties as assigned for business needs.

    Schedule and assign platting requirements to the specialized team members to ensure execution for submittal & recordation.

    Conduct/attend any meetings regarding the plat, including but not limited to the pre-development meeting, planning commission, commissioners court, consultations, HOA/Civic Clubs, Recordation meetings, etc....

    Communicate and coordinate with surveyors, engineers, architects, etc... for plat recordation requirements.

    Preparing daily and weekly updates in project management software

    Identify opportunities for improvement in both the quality of our responses and the efficiency of the response process.

    Flexibility to meet deadlines and work extra hours where required.

    Requirements

    High School Diploma required

    Minimum of 1 year experience dealing directly in the Subdivision Platting industry; either with the city/county, surveying, or engineering firms

    Knowledge of City of Houston Chapter 42 subdivision ordinances of city planning as they pertain to land development

    Proficient with the AutoCAD experience

    Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills

    Self-starter and ability to listen and execute directions

    Confident, flexible, and resilient team player

    Strategic and effective time management skills

    Clear and concise written and oral communication skills

    Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook

    Preferred

    Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or a related field

    Bilingual

    Schedule Monday- Thursday 8:00a-5:00p, Friday 8:00a-3:00p
