Overview
We are seeking veterans skilled Chemical Operator to join our team at our facility located in Dalton, GA, 30721. As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining chemical production equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality chemicals. Create chemical products during the processing of raw materials into industrial or consumer products and is responsible for area safety, cost, and quality. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic computer skills, excellent communication skills, and manual machining skills to contribute to our production process.
Responsibilities
- Perform machine setups for production runs, ensuring proper calibration and operation of equipment
- Monitor and control chemical processes, adjusting variables as needed to maintain product quality and consistency
- Required to handle hazardous chemicals per established protocol
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Must handle all materials with extreme attention to care and safety.
- Employee is responsible for overseeing machinery to make chemical products.
- Hook up, set up, and adjust machine such as temperature, pressure, flow of coolant, etc.
- Follow the direction given by management and the Lead Operator.
- Ensure accurate procedures are followed in loading or unloading reactors, tanks, or tankers in a safe manner by following all batch sheet instructions.
- Report any concerns, findings, or otherwise needed information.
- Work closely with lead operator to develop specialized skills needed to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and quickly.
- Must possess the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with fellow employees, members of management, and outside entities.
- Participate in the continuous improvement, expansion, and development of capacity and procedures within the plant.
- Must maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills to operate and monitor production equipment
- Meet physical requirements and be respirator fitted and pass a pulmonary test.
- Ability to calculate, weigh out, and mix chemical materials to produce a finished good
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with machine setups for production runs
- Lifting 75+ lbs. while stepping, twisting, bending, turning and all other movements.
- Ability to take verbal, written and hands-on instructions regarding procedures, training, and compounding
- Possess a sense of urgency while completing tasks
